Raising awareness about brain aneurysm risk factors and the importance of early detection can help save lives.

In this virtual symposium, you will hear from leading experts who will discuss advances in the research and management of brain aneurysms and arteriovenous malformations (AVMs). People diagnosed with a brain aneurysm or AVM, as well as their family members and caregivers, are welcome to attend.

There is no cost to attend this virtual symposium, but registration is required. On the day of the event, you will get an email with a link to join the session.

What to know about brain aneurysms
Approximately 1 in 50 people have a brain aneurysm they don’t know about. While brain aneurysms can occur at any age, they are most common in women over the age of 30.

Risk factors include:

  • Family history: If you have a family history of aneurysms, your risk of having an aneurysm is two to four times higher
  • High blood pressure
  • Smoking
  • Other disorders: Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease, Marfan syndrome and fibromuscular dysplasia
